Crowds throng to Kasidih Durga Puja pandal on opening day

Jamshedpur, Oct. 2: The Durga Puja pandal at the Thakur Pyara Singh � Dhurandhar Singh Club in Kasidih modeled on the Kurukshetra War as depicted in the epic Mahabharata where the advice given by Lord Shri Krishna to Arjuna is depicted, was opened on October 2.

The Puja pandal was jointly inaugurated by the mother of martyr Kishan Dubey, martyr Manoranjan Singh�s father and the hero of the Kargil War Manik Warda. The esteemed guests were later honoured by the puja committee. Puja Committee Patron Abhay Singh was also present on the occasion.

The fair set up on the grounds including various types of swings, Meena Bazaar and other stalls for the entertainment and purchase for visitors was opened simultaneously. The fair will continue till two days after the immersion that is, upto October 10.

With the inauguration of the puja pandal and fair people from all walks of life thronged the venue.

It may be noted that designers from Contai in West Bengal have prepared this exquisite creation. 

The image of Goddess Durga is the centre of major attraction. The image has been made by an artist from Kolkata.

The Patron stated that Bhog would be distributed free of cost on all the three days of Durgotsav. On Navami special consecrated food will be distributed among 20 thousand devotees.  Other committee members including Aishwariya Singh, Saubhagya Singh and Ankit Modi were present.

Parking of vehicles will be done at Thakur Pyara Singh High school, DSM School Ground, Kasidih High school premises and by the side of Kalimati Road.
