City records 391 new infections, 596 recoveries, 7 deaths
Jamshedpur, May 22: Jamshedpur logged 391 daily coronavirus case on Saturday, May 22. It appears to be early signs that the more dangerous Covid wave is receding from the city. The Steel City’s case positivity rate has also dropped to 5.54 percent.
The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 5.54 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 6500 tests in the last 24 hours. The Steel City tested 6604 samples, of which, 391 turned out positive while 596 people recovered from the Covid-19 on Saturday, May 22.
Meanwhile, 7 deaths were recorded in the same duration. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 5.54 per cent, the government data showed.
The recovery rate has climbed to 92.99% while the active cases have come down to 2800.
596 positive people recovered of the virus on Saturday pushing the recovery mark to 45012.
Deaths due to the virus continue to be sign of worry as 7 people succumbed due to Covid on Saturday, May 22, East Singhbhum Covid bulletin said.
City reported 7 deaths on Saturday while district’s positive cases tally has mounted to 48796. According to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on Saturday 7 fatalities were due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours. The death toll has climbed to 984.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 331087 test per million in the district.
As per the records of health department out of 6604 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 391 were found positive.
Over 6500 COVID-19 tests, including 2519 RT-PCR and 3681 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.
The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 92.99% while the mortality rate is 2.02%.
So far in Jamshedpur 883718 amples have been collected out of which 881353 have been tested and 832557 have turned out to be negative.
