Coronavirus Jamshedpur: Recovery rate improves to 83.22 per cent at TMH, positivity rate at 9.17

Jamshedpur, June 4: COVID-19 cases have started to decline further in the city, but people should not forget to adhere to appropriate behavior.

During a telephonic media interaction, Dr Rajan Choudhry, advisor, and former general manager, medical services, Tata Steel said that it is now clear that the second wave is on the decline. Positivity rate which was 17.13 per cent last week has reduced to 9.17 per cent.

The admissions have reduced to 47 this week. The deaths at the hospital have also reduced to 8 in the last week. The recovery rate has improved to 83.22 per cent.

He further noted that despite the fall people should continue to avoid crowding, wear masks and follow social distancing. This will reduce the chances of spread of the virus. If we remain serious about the protocols the virus will further reduce significantly.

The advisor also informed that the hospital has also started its clinics at Sakchi, Kadma, Baridih,  Sonari South Park and Sidgora. One doctor each has been deputed at the clinics. Some of these clinics were closed during the rising cases of Covid in the second wave.    

Talking about preparations for the third Covid wave, Dr Choudhry said that the hospital is focusing on infrastructure development. The hospital is acting proactively to strengthen facilities, so the situation could be handled in the best possible way.

He also went on to add that the hospital has administered 67, 994 doses so far out of 10,583 are of double doses. TMH has also started vaccination at XLRI and KSMS.

“We must take precautionary steps to ensure further safety. Avoid crowds, wear masks and maintain distance. We need to be careful in the coming days as the downward trends should continue for the next two weeks. We should continue to avoid crowding, wear masks and follow social distancing. This will reduce the chances of spread of the virus. If we remain serious about the protocols the virus will further reduce significantly,” said Dr Choudhry.  .
