Jamshedpur, March 25: After witnessing a consistent slump in coronavirus cases for a month or so, Jamshedpur is now seeing a fresh surge in daily Covid-19 cases.
No COVID-19 death has been reported in the East Singhbhum district as the death toll remains at 375. The active cases in Jamshedpur have risen to 199 with 22 new positives reported on Thursday, March 25.
On Thursday, East Singhbhum district reported 22 corona positive cases while 13 people recovered of the virus.
Of the new 22 cases 21 are from Jamshedpur and one from Ghatsila. The new positives in Jamshedpur include 8 Yes Bank Sakchi branch employees. The district administration will take a call on sealing the Bank for 14 days today.
The new positives in Jamshedpur took the Coronavirus tally to 18606. 13 people recovered of the virus on Thursday taking the total recovery to 18032 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 199.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 228890 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.03% while the mortality rate is 2.02 %.
So far in Jamshedpur 620263 samples have been collected out of which 609306 have been tested and 590700 have turned out to be negative.
On the other hand, Coronavirus tally in Jharkhand on Thursday reached 1,21,973 as 278 new cases of Covid-19 were detected while 72 people were discharged from various hospitals across the Jharkhand. During the day no deaths were reported as a result of which the overall death count remains at 1100. Total active cases in Jharkhand are 1175.
As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 1175 while number of cured and discharged cases stood at 1,21,973. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 1100.
