Jamshedpur, Oct 10: Police here busted a racket�dealing in forgery of certificates�by seizing a cache of�documents�from a house at�Gautam�Budh Road, Anil�Sur�Path,�Kadma on Thursday.
They are searching for a�youth, identified as Hiralal�Singh Patar, who is said to �be the kingpin of the outfit�and dealing in forgery of certificates�of Kolhan University�and�other institutions.
The SP city Kartik S said a�special police team was setup to crack down on the said�house where Patar was reportedly�staying in a rented�accommodation.
Cops had come to know�that the youth was involved�in forgery of academic and�other certificates for earning�fast bucks.�The youths fled the�house before being caught�by the police team.
Cops have seized hundreds�of certificates, admit�cards,�photographs, passports�and other documents from�the said house.�They are verifying the�credentials of the same with�different government offices.
The police team which is�conducting the probe includes�DSP Shashi Prakash,�officer�in-charge of Kadma�police�station Raju and other�officials.
Senior superintendent of�police, Richard Lakra, said the�police was conducting a�probe into the finding and�trying to verify the certificates.
He said raids were on�to�nab the culprit and his�accomplices�in the forgery.Cops�suspect the racket�helped�many students get�admission in exams and institutions through forged�certificates.
They�have seized a computer�CPU along with several�diaries and documents�that�may reveal the truth further.
�We�are trying to get onto�the culprits by putting the�phone of Hiralal Singh Patar�under surveillance.We are likely to make a�headway in a day or two,��said the SSP.
Cops also inquired about�Patar in the locality around�his house till late evening.
