Jamshedpur: Police arrested 12 persons on charges of gambling in Yarana restaurant at Sakchi bus stand on Wednesday evening and confiscated cash worth Rs 70,000 from their possession.
Sources said a police team raided the restaurant late evening on a tip-off about several people gambling in a closed room. Cops busted the restaurant and arrested the gamblers with cash and playing cards.
An FIR has been lodged in this connection. SP (City) Kartik S reached Sitaramdera police station and inquired about the case.
He said police were trying to find out as to what sort of other illegal activities were on in the restaurant.
