Jamshedpur, June 13: Former councilor Neetu Sharma has raised concerns on the increasing presence of drug addicts at Jayprakash Udyan, situated in ward 17 of Adityapur Municipal Corporation. In a letter addressed to the in-charge of Adityapur police station, Sharma urged for immediate action to address the alarming issue.
Neetu Sharma highlighted that the removal of vegetable vendors from Jay Prakash Udyan had led to a surge in anti-social elements frequenting the area. She noted incidents of drug consumption and harassment of passersby, particularly young girls and women, urging for heightened patrolling to curb such activities.
Additionally, Sharma called for a meeting between the police and general citizens in the ward area to foster trust and cooperation. She also reached out to the Forest Department, advocating for the completion of the incomplete boundary wall of JP Udyan to enhance security measures in the park. The collective efforts aimed to address the growing concerns and ensure the safety of residents in the vicinity.
