Saraikela, Aug 25: A meeting was held at the district collectorate today to review the status of applications for Prime Ministers Employment Guarantee Programme (PMEGP) scheme for the fiscal 2020-21. The meeting was presided by Deputy Commissioner Iqbal Alam Ansari. During the review the District Industrial centre General manager Shambhu Sharan Baitha informed that as against the FY 2020-21 target of 77 in PMEGP 135 proposals had been sent to various banks out of which only five had been sanctioned.
Expressing his dissatisfaction the DC directed that as per the central governments directive and guidelines, the applications had to be sanctioned within 30 days. He directed all bank managers present in the meeting that loan applications against the set target for the fiscal had to be honoured so as to benefit the applicants. At least 50 percent against the fixed PMEGP target had to be sanctioned within September 30 under any circumstance.
The districts lead bank Bank of Indias manager Virendra Kumar Seet assured that 50 percent of the target would be completed by September 30. Those present in the meet included Principal of Industrial Training Centre, representative of Rural Self Employment Training Centre, branch managers of Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, IDBI Bank, Jharkhand State Gramin Bank, Punjab National Bank and State Bank of India.
