CM Hemant Soren attends MoU signing between Jharkhand Horticulture Directorate, IIHR Bengaluru

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday between the Jharkhand Horticulture Directorate and the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru, at the Chief Minister’s office in the state assembly. The MoU aims to boost development, research, and services in horticulture across the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Soren said the initiative will directly benefit farmers by enhancing income and expanding horticulture activities. Collaboration with IIHR will improve productivity, quality, and market value of fruits, vegetables, ornamental and medicinal plants, and mushroom crops. Farmers will also gain access to modern technologies, research support, training, and horticulture services.

The event was attended by Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation; Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar; Abu Bakar Siddiqui, Secretary of the department; and other senior officials.
