Jamshedpur, Aug 30: Classical music Guru Dwip Narayan Singh passed away at 6 am today in the course of his treatment at Tata Main Hospital. He was 80 years old and had been ailing for some time. His cremation will take place on Saturday, August 31 at 11 am at Parvati Ghat in Bistupur.
A pall of gloom set over the city�s music performers and lovers. The Guru�s disciples, music lovers and well wishers visited his Kadma residence to express their condolence. Secretary of Jamshedpur Music Circle Subhash Bose while expressing grief said, �The demise of Dwip Narayan Singh is a huge loss to the city�s classical music scenario.� The late Guru�s disciple Amitabh Sen stated, �I still cannot believe that Sir is no more amongst us. He always promoted young and deserving talents. His demise is a big blow to the classical music fraternity.�
