Jamshedpur, July 2: CII-Indian Women Network (IWN) works towards enabling women become better professionals and achievers in their respective fields through various need based services for its members. IWN�s activities and initiatives are executed through its 3 task forces namely Learning & Development, Policy & Advocacy and Health & Wellbeing. CII-IWN Jharkhand Chapter has been actively working for an all inclusive approach to create gender parity for women in Indian Industry and civil society. The aim of the IWN Jharkhand is to work for strengthening women�s role and participation in the economic development and community affairs.
As part of an awareness and support campaign on menstrual health and hygiene, CII-IWN Jharkhand Chapter under its Health and Wellbeing vertical proposed to install incinerators in rural and semi-urban schools in and around of Jamshedpur.
Taking this further, CII-IWN Jharkhand Chapter installed a sanitary napkin incinerator today at Utkramit Uchh Vidyalaya in Khukradih on the outskirts of Jamshedpur. This initiative was supported by RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd.
Happy Mukherjee, Chairwoman, CII-IWN Jharkhand Chapter said that this initiative would impact teenage girls by helping them inculcate a good habit. The students can in turn take this forward to their family and friends and explain the importance and use of an incinerator, which would minimize the solid waste disposal and also would allow girls to dispose used napkins without any embarrassment.
