Black gram seeds to 100 Ukam farmers

Gamharia, July 14: ATMA today distributed black gram (Urad Dal) seeds among 100 farmers in Ukam, a remote and interior village under Gamharia Block. Technical director Rajesh Kumar provided technical details on black gram farming. He said that black gram cultivation took between 75 and 80 days to be ready for harvesting. He explained that the ideal temperature for seasoning was between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius and it required 700 to 900 mm of rain. These factors would ensure optimal black grain crop, Rajesh Kumar told the farmers. Krishak Mitra Debasish Das and the local Mukhiya along with other farmers were present on the occasion.
