Jamshedpur, March 15 : A 12-year-old boy, who was inflicted inhuman torture at his relatives� residence at Kadma late last night was rescued. After being rescued, the boy was taken to MGM Medical College Hospital for a medical check-up today and was subsequently lodged in Mother Terresa Welfare Centre in Telco by the Childline. A resident of Samastipur in Bihar, the boy had marks of beatings throughout of his body.
PuspaTirkey, chairperson, East Singhbhum district Child Welfare Committee (CWC) under which the Childline’s local unit functions, said they rescued the boy from a residential quarter on Kundli Road in Kadma at around 10 pm.
“Based on a tip off that a boy was being turtored by his relatives we nabbed the culprits. On getting the information a team of Childline led by me visited the residence which was that an employee of TSRDS. ,” said Tirkey.
The CWC chairperson said though the boy claimed that he sustained wounds after falling down accidentally but after some queries by the boy’s relatives, they came to know that he was suffering both mental and physical torture, but was trying to save his relatives.
“Only after the medical examination today, we found the boy’s body had marks of injuries caused by regular beating. After talking to his parents we took him to the Mother Terresa Welfare Centre for providing him shelter. We have also talked to the boy’s parents who are on their way to Jamshedpur for taking the boy back home,” said the CWC chairperson.
According to the boy, aunty (wife of the TSRDS employee) used to torture him for making even a small mistake. ” I am in state of shock.I had been sent here for study, but they did not put me in any school and were making me to do all domestic work. The aunty used to torture me for making every small mistake. I want to go back to my house,” narrated the boy before the media.
