Balaji Brahmotsavam concludes on a devotional note in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The three-day Brahmotsavam celebrations at the Balaji Temple in Sidhgora concluded on a devotional note on the final day with elaborate rituals, cultural performances and a grand city procession of Lord Venkateswara Swami.

The day began with the Suprabhatam (morning awakening ritual) of Lord Balaji, followed by daily prayers and worship. At around 10 am, several distinguished guests, including Patamda MLA Mangal Kalindi, ADL Society President Y. Ishwar Rao, and Andhra Bhakta Sri Rama Mandiram, Bistupur President B.D. Gopal, were felicitated with traditional shawls (Anga Vastram) and bouquets. Vice President C.H. Ramana was also honoured during the ceremony.

Priests who had arrived from Visakhapatnam conducted the sacred Kalyanam ceremony, symbolising the celestial wedding of Lord Venkateswara Swami with Goddesses Sridevi and Bhudevi. The ritual was performed according to South Indian traditions and Vedic chants. Around 200 couples participated in the ceremony and received the blessings of Lord Balaji.

In the evening, beginning at 4 pm, Lord Venkateswara Swami was placed on the Chandraprabha Vahanam (Moon Chariot) and taken out in a grand procession through various parts of the city. The route came alive with traditional music, Kolattam dances and fireworks as devotees gathered in large numbers to witness the event. Many devotees performed aarti and offered prayers along the procession route.

After the procession, the deity was ceremonially brought back to the temple and reinstalled in the sanctum according to Vedic rituals. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of prasad to devotees.

Several members of the temple committee and volunteers played a key role in organising the successful event.
