Jamshedpur: An awareness programme was organized in Kharangajhar market in Telco on Wednesday to promote indigenous goods and boycott foreign goods.
The chief guest of the programme was Mohanlal Agrawal, president of Jamshedpur Chamber of Commerce. The programme was inaugurated by Santosh Kumar Shardul, president of Telco Police Public Coordination Committee.
Addressing the programme, Ravi Shankar Pandey, president of Telco Chamber of Commerce, appealed to all Indians to not purchase any foreign made goods continuously for 90 days. �India may become the second richest country of the world.
In just 90 days, Rs 2 will be at par with US Dollar 1. We should try it out as we need to take the country forward,� he said.
The organizers said the message to promote indigenous goods had the backing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Many others were present during the programme. They included Vikas Agrawal, Santosh Kumar, Sagarmal Agrawal, Jitendra Rai, Sonu Khan, Deepak Pal, Pankaj Mishra, Ankit, Anand, Vijay Kumar, Suman Das and Sumit Kumar.
