Armed robbers decamp with cash over 3.5 lakhs in Jamshedpur

Criminals introduce themselves as policemen�

Jamshedpur: A gang of armed robbers decamped with cash and ornaments worth over Rs 3.5 lakh from a house in Gandhinagar under Bagbera police station area at the wee hours today.

The criminals had made the house owner to open the door after claiming themselves to be policemen.

In this connection, the police have registered a case of robbery on the FIR lodged by Abhiram Singh, the house owner against five unidentified persons. 

Abhiram is a milk trader and was in sleeping along with his grandson at the house which was bolted from inside. 

Thinking there were policemen at his door step, Abhiram opened the door to find a gang of criminals who entered into the room and took the victim under control at gun-point.  The criminals had then searched in the house and fled having taken Rs 2 lakh cash and gold ornament worth over Rs 1.5 lakh.

OC, Bagbera police station, Rajesh Kumar Singh confirmed about the incident and said that they are trying to detect the case.
