Jamshedpur, May 10: Arka Jain University in Gamharia, Seraikela Kharsawan district, will be starting two new bachelor degree courses under School of Medical and Allied Sciences from the session 2018-19.
B.Sc Optometry and B.Sc Bio Technology are the two courses being started by the university and after successfully completing them a student will have whole lots of job offers.
B.Sc Optometry is a four year bachelor degree course consisting of eight semesters and B.Sc Bio Technology will have six semesters.
Arka Jain University will be the first university in Jharkhand to start B.Sc Optometry course.
‘Seeing the huge demand of optometrists by the eye care specialists, we have decided to start the four-year course so that students get an opportunity to get jobs’, said Prof Dr Syed Safdar Razi, Vice-Chancellor of Arka Jain University.
Senior eye care specialist of Jamshedpur Eye Hospital Dr. SP Jakhanwal welcomed the course. ‘This will help the doctors a lot in assisting the eye patients as there has been scarcity of trained people and the doctors had to take extra burden. This course will be a boon to the Steel City’, Dr. Jakhanwal informed.
