Anshuman Panda of Loyola School aces ASISC Lawn Tennis Championship

Swapnil of Don Bosco Patna wins in senior category

Jamshedpur, June 25: Anshuman Panda of Loyola School, Jamshedpur in the singles junior boys catgeory, Swapnil Sinha of Don Bosco Academy, Patna in the singles senior boys along with Shreetama of Carmel Junior College in the singles girls junior and Srishti Shikha of Rajendra Vidyalaya in the singles senior girls category were crowned the winners of the ASISC Lawn Tennis Championship 2018.

Hosted by DBMS English School at J.R.D. Tata Sports Complex on 24th and 25th June, Steel City students proved their mettle winning most the event of the championship.
In Singles – Junior Boys Category final Anshuman Panda of Loyola School defeated Satyam Sujay of Don Bosco Academy, Patna.

In Singles – Senior Boys Category final Swapnil Sinha of Don Bosco Academy, Patna beat Asad Abdullah Yusuf of Loyola School.

Earlier, in junior girls doubles category Supriya Singh and Talia Hameed of DBMS English School were adjudged the winners.

P. Suhashini and G. Srividya of DBMS English School won the senior girls doubles event.

In the junior boys doubles Prince and Apurva Amrit of Don Bosco Academy, Patna won the event while in the senior boys doubles event Anitej Srivastava and Aayam Shourya of Loyola School won the championship.

First place winners in doubles (all categories) have qualified to represent Bihar & Jharkhand Region in the ASISC National Lawn Tennis tourney to be played at Bangalore. In singles final (Winners & Runners) both have qualified to represent Bihar & Jharkhand Region in the ASISC National Lawn Tennis tourney.

The closing ceremony of the two day event was held on Monday. All winners were given trophies and certificates. Hema Raghavan, Secretary, D.B.M.S. English School, Meena Mohan, Jt. Secretary, D. B. M. S. English School, P.K. Sahu, Vice-Principal, D. B. M. S. English School and Rajani Shekhar, Principal, D. B. M. S. English School awarded the winners. All officials were also honoured.
