AIEI 2026 at NIT Jamshedpur Highlights AI Innovation, Research

Jamshedpur: The International Conference on AI Engineering and Innovation (AIEI 2026) concluded on a high note at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur this Saturday, marking the successful end of a three-day global academic gathering. The Department of Electrical Engineering hosted the conference from March 26 to 28, bringing together academicians, researchers, and industry experts to discuss emerging trends in artificial intelligence and engineering innovation.

Distinguished Leadership and Academic Vision

Prof. Goutam Sutradhar, Director of NIT Jamshedpur, presided over the valedictory ceremony as Chief Patron. He joined Prof. Saroj Kumar Sarangi, Registrar and Co-Patron, and Dr. Madhu Singh, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Co-Patron, to lead the final proceedings. Guests of Honour Prof. Asheesh Kumar Singh and Mr. Vinod Veeramachaneni also attended the ceremony.

Dr. Surajit Kundu opened the program with a welcome address, highlighting the collaborative efforts that powered the conference and emphasizing its academic relevance. The organizers then held a felicitation ceremony to honor the dignitaries for their contributions to the field.

Driving Innovation Through AI and Industry Ties

In their addresses, Dr. Madhu Singh and Prof. Saroj Kumar Sarangi underscored how interdisciplinary research and strong institutional support drive technological advancement.

  • Prof. Asheesh Kumar Singh shared valuable insights into advancements in deep learning, power systems, and renewable energy integration, noting the growing importance of AI-driven solutions.

  • Vinod Veeramachaneni encouraged students to engage directly with industry-led innovation. To provide practical exposure, he announced internship opportunities for four students at ThinkMediator Inc.

Global Impact and Leadership

In his concluding remarks, Prof. Goutam Sutradhar praised the organizing team and participants, reiterating the institute’s commitment to research, innovation, and global academic collaboration.

Dr. Veer Pratap Meena, General Chair and founder of AIEI 2026, led the conference and ensured its smooth execution. Dr. Meena currently serves as the Student Chapter Educational Program Subcommittee Chair (2025–2027) for global IEEE initiatives and ranks among the world’s top 2% of scientists according to Stanford University and Elsevier for both 2024 and 2025. Dr. Surya Pratap supported him throughout the event, playing a key role in managing the proceedings.
