Jamshedpur : Krishna Cable Network, of Parsudih was seized because the cable agency had not got its registration renewed this year.
Acting on order by sub-divisional officer (SDO), Dhalbhum Prem Ranjan, a team of officials from Parsudih police station seized over the office of the Krishna Cable Network at Charkhamba Road in Parsudih and confiscated the control room this morning.
SDO, Dhalbhum Prem Ranjan confirmed that he had instructed the DPRO Avinash Kumar to seize the Krishna Cable Network’s control room and seal the office until fresh registration for running the show is obtain.
“We have received complaint against the cable operator. The administration has seized the Krishna Cable Network’s office as the owner of the cable agency had not obtained the fresh registration.
We have seized the equipment of the Krishna Cable’s control room under the Cable Televion Networks (Regulation) Act’s section 11,” said Prem Ranjan. He pointed out though the cable agency was supposed to get its fresh registration in the month of January every year, it had not obtained it till this date.
However, an official of the Krishna Cable Network said they had deposited the requisite fee with the General Post Officer, Jamshedpur two months ago.
But as the head post master is on a long leave, the registration could not be processed. He complained that he explained the district official but he did not hear anything and seized the control room.
