Jamshedpur : Marwari Yuva Manch organised the free cancer detection camp organised. The camp at the 45 ft long bus which has come all the way from New Delhi was inaugurated by Saryu Roy, food and civil supplies minister, Jharkhand at the Gujarati Sanatan Samaj in Bistupur.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by city based oncologist S.K. Ghosh, Sajjan Naredi, former secretary of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ashok Goyal, executive member of All India Marwari Yuva Manch.
More than 150 patients including 51 female turned up for the first day screening on the first day.
The bus which was recently launched about a couple of months ago was equipped to conduct mammography for breast cancer, digital X-ray for lung cancer, CVC Machine to test blood cancer, EG reader to test prostrate cancer and CA (cancer antigen)-125.
The Marwari Yuva Manch Jamshedpur which has organised the free camp have also roped in city based doctors for the first round of screening.
The patients after their registration approached the doctors which includes dentists, gynaecologists, cancer surgeon and general physician and later are referred to undergo the concerned tests.
This is the first-of-its-kind cancer screening camp in Kolhan that includes– East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan.
