Jamshedpur: The 75th Steel City Platinum Jubilee Golf Tournament concluded on a high note with a grand closing and prize distribution ceremony, bringing the curtains down on one of the most prestigious golfing events in the Steel City. Hosted across the Golmuri and Beldih golf courses, the landmark tournament witnessed strong participation from golfers from Jamshedpur and outside the city, showcasing high-quality competition, precision play and exemplary sportsmanship.
The closing ceremony was attended by several eminent personalities associated with the event, including D.B. Sundar Ramam, Jamshedpur Golf Captain and Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, Abhijit Avinash Nanoti, Managing Director, JCAPCPL, Daisy Irani and Sanjiv Paul, former Vice President (Safety), Tata Steel. The dignitaries felicitated winners across categories and lauded the organisers for successfully hosting the platinum jubilee edition of the tournament.

On-course competitions added excitement to the multi-day event. Ravi Khandelwal won the Closest to the Pin contest at Hole No. 1 (Golmuri) with an impressive 4 feet 8 inches. Dheer Dutta claimed the Straightest Drive at Hole No. 4 (Golmuri), while Navtez Singh registered the Longest Drive at Hole No. 12 (Beldih) with a powerful 299-yard shot.
In the category-wise Best Gross honours, Deepak Sahay topped the 25–36 handicap category with a gross score of 92. Amit Garg led the 19–24 category with a gross 90, followed by Bipin Patel in the 15–18 category with gross 87. Biren Kumar won the 10–14 category with a gross 80, while Nikhil Adesara claimed Best Gross in the elite 0–9 category with an excellent score of 79.
The Veteran’s Trophy was secured by Prashant Maurya, who carded a net score of 71. Anil Tiwari was declared Best Outstation Golfer with a net score of 70, while the Best Local Golfer award went to Dr Sanjay Panda, who returned an impressive net score of 69.
Senior golfers were specially honoured during the Seniors’ Trophy (70 years and above) 9-hole Stableford competition. Bal Krishan Wadera clinched the title with 21 net points, while A.M. Mishra finished runner-up with 18 points.
The prestigious 75th Steel City Platinum Open Championship saw Col M.K. Singh of Ranchi emerge champion with a net score of 66, while Nishant Jha secured the runner-up position with net 68. In the Nora Haley Cup, Maya Choudhary lifted the winner’s trophy with a net score of 65, followed closely by Manju Mishra at net 66. Hetal Adesara claimed Best Gross in the category with a score of 84.
In the overall 75th Steel City winners’ category, Nishant Jha delivered a standout performance, bagging both Best Gross with a score of 76 and the Winner’s title with a net score of 68. R. Ganeshan finished runner-up with a net score of 68.
The ceremony also featured the announcement of the coveted Golfer of the Year awards. In the ladies’ category, Shilpa Amin was declared Golfer of the Year with 250 points, while Subodh Kumar clinched the honour in the gentlemen’s category with 222 points.
With record participation, competitive spirit and a celebratory platinum jubilee backdrop, the 75th Steel City Golf Tournament once again reinforced Jamshedpur’s stature as a major hub for the sport in eastern India.
