12-year-old boy drowns in Swarnarekha in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Sameer Nayak, 12-year-old son of Tukanu Nayak alias Sanjay Nayak, resident of Shyam Nagar, Shankosai, Mango Dimna Road, died on Saturday after drowning into the river. He along with his friends went to the Ram Nagar Ghat at Shankosai on the Swarnarekha river at 9:30 am. His foot slipped and he went deep into the water. Seeing Sameer drowning, his friends shouted.

After this, the locals gathered and were taken out and brought to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Sameer was a Class IV student at JP School in Shankosai. The father of the deceased is Raj Mistry. They reported that the school has been closed since the lockdown. Because of this, he used to spend the morning with his friends. For the past one week, he was going to bath the river continuously. During this time this incident happened.�
