Jamshedpur, September 21: Employees of Tata Motors Jamshedpur plant will get 10.6 percent annual bonus for the accounting year 2023-24. The company also announced regularisation of 325 workers.
The average and maximum annual bonus payable will be Rs 46,418 and Rs 63,872 respectively.

The Tata Motors management and Tata Motors Workers Union signed a Memorandum of Settlement on Saturday, September 21, 2024 for payment of annual bonus.
The memorandum was signed by Ravindra Kulkarni, Head, Tata Motors Jamshedpur Plant and Gurmeet Singh ‘Tote’, President, Tata Motors Workers Union, RK Singh General Secretary and other union officials.
The agreement includes a provision of a lump-sum amount for permanent workers, while a positive plan has also been designed for temporary workers.

As per a prior tripartite agreement, 225 temporary workers were scheduled to be made permanent each quarter, with the next list expected on October 1.
However, under the new bonus agreement, an additional 100 temporary workers will be made permanent, bringing the total to 325 temporary workers who will be made permanent in the upcoming list.

A notable and commendable aspect of this agreement is the initiative to provide opportunities for employees’ children. In November, vacancies will be released for full-term apprentices, and after completing the full-term apprenticeship, the sons of employees will be engaged in a three-year diploma program and then employed on a permanent basis. Additionally, around 116 trainees who have already completed the Tata Motors Skill Training (TMST) and full-term apprenticeships will be included in the employment process starting in April, linked with the diploma program. After completing the three-year diploma, they will have the option to stay in the company as technical staff or pursue promotions as supervisors or other positions.
General Secretary RK Singh outlined all these details during a meeting held at the union office. Union Advisor Praveen Singh emphasized that the union works diligently, in a democratic manner, to improve the condition of workers, secure a brighter future for their children, and contribute to the company’s progress. Tata Motors Workers Union President Gurmeet Singh also addressed the employees, highlighting that this agreement was made possible due to the unity among workers, strong coordination within the union, and the management’s trust. He expressed confidence that the inclusion of these young workers would enhance the company’s technical capabilities and help deliver better vehicles to the market.
Employees celebrate bonus agreement, express gratitude to union leaders
Jamshedpur, September 21: The program concluded with best wishes for Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath. Following the announcement, hundreds of employees celebrated by marching from the main gate of Tata Motors to the union office, garlanding President, General Secretary, and Advisor Praveen Singh with flowers and throwing colored powder. The workers, especially those who were made permanent or secured a place in the diploma program, expressed their gratitude to the union leaders. Many women employees also joined in, thanking the union for its role in securing their future.
