Young generation needs to learn about our great luminaries: Raghubar Das

Jamshedpur: Chief Minister Raghubar Das inaugurated the three day long Prakash Utsav celebrations at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, and offered obeisance to Guru Gobind Singh to mark his 350th birth anniversary.

In his address, the CM said that the mere taking of name of Guru Gobind Singh filled a person with divinity and a feeling to bow the head in submission. He said the country has a tradition of following the footprints of the great sages and saints who have enlightened the path of humanity for ages. Keeping this in mind, the state government is making efforts to educate children about the lives and teachings of great people like the tenth Guru of Sikhs, said the CM.

The CM called for taking a mass pledge to lead a life of sacrifice and humility. He said the BJP-led government respected every religion and encouraged brotherhood among all the communities.

Earlier, the CM and the Union Minister along with the MPs were felicitated by the prominent leaders of the Sikh community. The CM and other dignitaries wore turbans as a mark of respect to the Sikh Guru and joined the large gathering in the celebration.

Also present on the occasion was the Union Minister for Skill Development Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy, state minister Amar Kumar Bauri, MP of Jamshedpur Vidyut Varan Mahato, Rajya Sabha MP Pradip Balmuchu and tourism secretary of the government of Jharkhand Rahul Sharma.
