XITE Photo Walk: Endeavor to help Cheshire Home

Gamharia, Oct 23:  A clothes collection and clay lamp sales drive made by residents of Cheshire Home in Sundernagar was organized by the Community service and Photography Club of XITE College in Gamharia in aid of the Cheshire Home. The drive, named, ‘XITE Photo Walk’ was conducted by the faculty and students of the College led by Dr Pompa Dasgupta, Dr Partho Priya Das and Dr Sanchita Ghosh Chowdhury.

During the drive, earthen lamps and candles made by the Cheshire Home inmates were sold and more than 500 old clothes including winter clothing were collected. The Principal of XITE College, Fr EA Francis observed on the occasion, “The objective of such drives is to inculcate values of love, affection and compassion among the students to go hand-in-hand with their all-round development. This XITE Photo Walk was a step in that direction for helping the special residents of Cheshire Home.”

Students clicked photographs during the drive under the guidance of Dr Pramod Kumar Singh and Prof Shalu Kant. The photographs clicked will be judged and the names of the winners would announce would be announced shortly.
