Ranchi: With the deepening of the controversy over the allegations of Naxalite links against state agriculture minister Yogendra Sao, Chief Minister Hemant Soren is reported to have made up his mind to remove his tainted Cabinet colleague.

Sources revealed that the CM has been deeply concerned over the serious allegations against Sao regarding his association with Jharkhand Tiger Group, a Naxalite outfit.

Sao also faces charges of extorting huge sums as levy from coal suppliers in the state. The allegations were made against him by Rajkumar Gupta, the kingpin of the outfit, during interrogation recently.

State government has been facing criticism from various parties over the alleged Naxalite links of its minister. Recently, state Congress committee had set up a three member committee to probe into the allegations.

State Congress president Sukhdev Bhagat will make partys stand clear on his return from New Delhi, party sources said.

Meanwhile, speaking to scribes on the allegations against him, the agriculture minister said he was ready to tender his resignation at the slightest hint of the CM.

If the CM so desires, I am ready to quit. I have informed party leadership about the fake charges and the situation. I hope to be consulted before any final decision is taken in this regard, said Sao.
