Welding technology has a significant role in industrial sector: AB Lall

Jamshedpur, Jan 22: AB Lall, Plant Head Tata Motors inaugurated the Weld India 2014-15, a technology exhibition organised jointly by The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW) & Tata Steel at G Town ground in presence of a wide spectrum of dignitaries and members of various local industries and associations representing the industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Lall said, �The Tata Motors in Jamshedpur has rolled out 2 million vehicles and to remain competitive in the global scenario and to increase the reliability of the trucks it is important to adopt the new technologies and upgrade the skills of workforce. Welding technology has a significant role in the industrial sector while the exhibition is a great effort by the Institute in bringing together the users of welding products and the producing industry and is a step towards inducting the latest technologies available worldwide.�

Suresh Kumar, Vice President, Shared Services, Tata Steel and also the Chairman of the organising committee welcomed the guests, exhibitors, representatives of local industries, and associations representing the industry and remarked that the exhibition will be of great help to the local welding practitioners, professionals and user industry to understand what is available in the global market and how best to make use of it.

A total of 44 exhibitors have put up their stalls in the exhibition, displaying the latest equipment, consumables, and processes. Prominent exhibitors included ISWP, Voestalpine, Lorch, Alloy Steel International, NDTS India, BMC Metalcast, AK Industries, Adityapur Auto Cluster, Balaji Solutions, Electronics & Engineering, EWAC Alloys, Mehta Sanghvi, Broach Cutter, Hindustan Precision, Mailam India, Weldnman Synergic, Sharada Welding, Reliance Fabrications, Superon , Pioneer Intertrade and many others.

Other speakers on the occasion included S N Thakur, Secretary, Adityapur Small Industries Association, R Srinivasan, President IIW-INDIA. In their address to the gathering, they stressed upon the importance of welding in the manufacturing and fabrication industry and the role IIW plays in fostering the technology.

Belly Bodhanwala, Suresh Sonthalia, President Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry, A K Srivastav, Parimal Biswas, Hon. Secretary General-IIW India, Dilip Goel were also present on the occasion among the host of other prominent personalities.

At the exhibition more than 400 delegates from various industries from across India are participating were 110 technical papers will be presented. 44 National and International welding consumable and equipment manufacturing companies exhibit at the Welding Technology Exposition ~
