Villagers capable of changing Jharkhands fate: CM

Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday said the villagers of Jharkhand were capable of changing the fate of their villages and their families. He said the rural youths, especially girls, had the potential to bring about the desired change in the society. He was addressing a gathering in Banlotwa village of Ormanjhi during a function organized to celebrate de-addiction of the said village.

Das said any major change or transformation required active participation of the people. He said Banlotwa was one such example of change. “The people of Banlotwa have freed the village of addiction of all kinds. Even the state government is working with such an aim and willpower. We want to ensure greater participation of the people. This is why development committees are being set up in villages,” he said.
The CM gave Rs 1 lakh cash to Banlotwa village people to recognize their contribution to the de-addiction drive. He said very soon 10,000 women would be given job of preparing and supplying food in the five divisions of the state under the Read To Eat scheme. He said around three lakh women of the state were either jobless or landless.
