Ujjwala scheme meant to create a healthy society: Menka Sardar

Jamshedpur: As many as 85 poor families were given free LPG cylinders, stoves and pipes under the Ujjwala Yojana in Potka on Friday. The distribution took place in Juri panchayat building. It was inaugurated by the MLA of Potka Menka Sardar, in the presence of the proprietor of Aradhya Indane gas agency, Avinash, Mukhiya Savitri Sardar, district nodal officer cum sales officer of IOC Rajat Kumar Singh, Potka CO Dwarika Baitha, Manoj Ram and Haldhar Das.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that Ujjwala Scheme had been started with the view to create a healthy society. She said the remaining BPL families would get the benefits of the scheme in March 2018. She said preparations are on to achieve the target.

The district nodal officer said that so far 4,507 poor families had got the free LPG connections. There are 2,087 more families yet to get the connection. Hindustan Petroleum has given 1188 gas cylinders to the beneficiaries so far, sources said.
