Two siblings die in road mishap near Jamshedpur


Jamshedpur, Jan 3: Two brothers riding on a bike died in road mishap along  Seraikela-Kandra Main Road when their bike dashed against a stationary heavy vehicle from behind on Saturday late night near Dugnigarh under Seraikela police station.

According to police, Ghaghi village resident, Sheikh Mehendi had gone to his daughter house in Mudia and was returning with his three sons Abdul Alim (35), Sheikh Karim (26) and Abdul Rahim (24)  at around 10 pm on two bikes.

On one bike Sheikh Mehendi  was returning with Sheikh Karim  while two brothers Abdul Alim and Abdul Rahim were coming on another bike and near Dughnigarh when Sheikh Mehendi who was riding in front did not see his two sons returned back to find his two sons lying on the road after their bike had dashed from behind the stationary truck.

The father informed the police who rushed the body in an ambulance to Seraikela Sadar Hospital from where they were sent for post mortem. The body was handed over to the family on Sunday morning after post mortem.

Significantly, Alim had got married three months back and was a cleric in a local mosque  while youngest son Abdul Rahim had married one and half year back and his wife is eight months pregnant.

Incidentally, heavy vehicles are parked illegally alongside Seraikela-Kandra and Seraikela-Kharswan Main Road without mandatory norms like pasting reflective tapes and glowing stickers which is resulting in regular such accidents.

As per statistics in 2020 nearly 12 fatal mishaps took place in the Seraikela-Kharswan district due to bikers dashing stationary heavy vehicles.
