Two drops of life: Jharkhand Health Minister launches state-level polio campaign

Jamshedpur, Jan 31: Health Minister Banna Gupta launched the Pulse Polio Campaign in Jharkhand today in a program organized in Jamshedpur by administering a one-year-old girl with two drops of life.

Addressing the people on this occasion, he said that no polio cases have been found in Jharkhand for the last 10 years, which is a matter of pride for us. For this, all the employees of the Health Department must be congratulated.

He said that even in the global crisis of Corona, the staff of our Health Department is engaged in making this campaign successful with all hesitation and honesty.

Gupta said that in the cycle of pulse polio, 60.83 lakh children aged 0-5 years have been targeted to be given polio drops. 24334 polio booths have been set up across the state to make the program a success. Apart from this, 48, 669 polio teams are actively working for this, with 4,861 supervisors, 8,832 ANMs, 40,964 Sahias and 38,340 Anganwadi workers playing an active role in this campaign.

He said that the objective of the government is to provide quality healthcare in remote areas and rural areas, our aim is to provide better health care to the last person of the last village of the state. Today, this campaign has been started in the state under National Immunization Day.

Senior officials of the Health Department were present on the occasion.
