Seraikela, May 29: A distressing road accident occurred on Monday near Sanjay village on the Seraikela-Kandra main road, falling under the jurisdiction of the Seraikela police station. A truck collided with a scooty from behind and immediately fled the scene. The incident resulted in serious injuries to both the mother and son riding the scooty. They were promptly transported to Seraikela Sadar Hospital via a road ambulance, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. The accident took place around 11 o’clock in the morning.
According to the available information, 24-year-old Sushant Mahato, a resident of Mohitpur, was traveling with his 42-year-old mother, Lakhimani Mahato, on the scooty towards Tidingtipa. It was during their journey that a truck approaching from behind near Sanjay village collided with them and swiftly fled the scene. As a result of the collision, Sushant sustained injuries to his hand, while his mother suffered injuries to her back and waist.
The authorities have been alerted about the incident, and an investigation is underway to apprehend the truck driver who fled after the accident. The police are examining the available evidence and gathering eyewitness accounts to determine the cause of the accident and identify the responsible party.
