Trains to remain affected on Howrah-Tata route on Nov 19


    Several trains cancelled, others diverted

    Jamshedpur: Train movement has been to get affected due to remodeling work at the Kharagpur railway yard. On Saturday Howrah-Purulia Express, Howrah-Ranchi Inter-city Express (which goes via Tatanagar), Howrah-Jagdalpur Samleshwari Express (both Up and Dn), Purulia-Jhargram Express, Dn Ranchi-Howrah Inter-city Express.

    Tata-Kharagpur Passenger ( both Up and Dn) were cancelled while Tata-Kharagpur MEMU Passenger was halted at Kalaikunda. The trains that were diverted were New Delhi-Puri Neelanchal Express, New Delhi- Puri Purushottam Superfast Express , went via Hijli and Nimpura bypassing Kharagpur.

    On Sunday over a dozen, including Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Express (Up and Dn), Howrah-Barbil Janshatabdi Express (Up and Dn), Shalimar-Kurla Express, Tata-Howrah Steel Superfast Express (Up and Dn), Howrah-Ahmedabad Express (Up and Dn), Udaipur-Shalimar Express, Hatia-Howrah Express and Mumbai-Howrah Geetanjali Express will remain cancelled. Rescheduled: Howrah-Hatia Express, Howrah-Mumbai Geetanjali Express and Howrah-Shirdi Sai Express Two-hour halt: Howrah-Pune Duronto Express in Chakradharpur division Diverted: Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Superfast Express, Bhubaneshwar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express and Puri-New Delhi Neelanchal Express.

    Located on the Howrah-Mumbai main route Tatanagar is an important station. Several important trains travel via Tatanagar, including the high-profile Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express. The station sees a daily traffic of 90 mail, express and passenger trains, besides a footfall of more than 60,000 passengers.

    Meanwhile, passengers traveling to Kolkata are facing harrowing times. Due to cancellation of trains they have no choice left to travel to other places. Due to this, the rush in other trains has increased so much so that the authorities have issued a no-room for trains.
