Jamshedpur, May 28: Suicide cases have increased once again in Jamshedpur.
On Saturday, three persons a minor, a woman and a middle-aged man committed suicide.
The first incident is of Ulidih police station area where 11-year-old Anshu Kumar, resident of Sankosai Road No. 5 Munda Colony, committed suicide by hanging himself. Anshu was a student of class seven of St Anthony School. Father Hardev Mandal is a truck driver and is currently in Uttarakhand. The family came to know about the incident in the evening when they went to his room. Anshu had closed the door of the room. Somehow by breaking the door, Anshu was brought down from the noose and immediately rushed to TMH for treatment where he was declared brought dead after investigation. It is being told that Anshu had a fight with his brother, due to which he took this step.
The second incident is from Parsudih police station area where the body of 21-year-old Chandni Purti was found hanging from a tree 50 meters away from her maternal home. In the early hours of Saturday, the local people saw her body and informed the family members. Chandni hanged herself with her own sari.
Husband Dhano Purti is a contract worker in Tata Power. He is a resident of Neemtola in Haludbani. Dhano told that a year and a half ago he had a love marriage with Chandni. Five days ago Chandni had gone to Jaksandih without informing her. This morning the in-laws informed about the incident. Dhano told that on Friday evening she had come out saying that she would come back to her in-laws’ house, but in the morning her body was found hanging from the tree.
Anoop Kumar Mandal, 56, a resident of Khasmahal SP College Road in Parsudih, committed suicide by hanging himself. His body was found hanging in the room. The family informed the police about this. On getting information, the police reached the spot and broke the door of the room and brought the dead body hanging in his room. Anoop’s brother Uttam Mandal told that Anoop did not do any work due to which he was in depression.
