Jamshedpur: The police today nabbed three accused involved in the shooting on beverages shop owner at Govindpur. Those arrested were identified as Raman Jha, a resident of Chhota Govindpur, Pintu Kumar Prasad and Sintu Kumar Sahu, both residents of Dayal City in Parsudih. The police have seized the scooty. The fourth accused, Chandan Singh, who is the main accused in the case is still absconding.
Chandan Singh who was leader of the gang of four had shot at the beverage shop owner Akhilesh Singh after the owner demanded money from the former after consuming beverage.
During the incident the victim sustained the gun-shot injury in the head and was rushed to Tata Main Hospital emergency from where he was shifted to intensive care unit (ICU) where he is recovering.
Akhilesh Singh (32) was shot at and injured only because he had asked Chandan Singh, the main accused in the case, to pay the bill for the four bottles of soft drinks that they had consumed.
The superintendent of police (city), Chandan Jha said all the four accused who had turned up at the beverage shop were drunk. After shooting they had fled the scene by riding the scooty. He said the absconding Chandan has taken the pistol along. He said that the police were conducting raids to nab him too.
Meanwhile after a series of burglaries in the city during past few months has prompted the police to take some immediate measures to curb the menace. The police administration has decided to increase night patrolling in the city, especially in Mango and Sakchi localities of the city.
“One police officer from the police station concerned would keep an eye on the movement of constables deployed at different places under the system,” a police official informed. These constables would keep an eye on suspicious elements moving in night and check them.
