Jamshedpur, May 28: Three persons were burnt after a high tension (HT) wire fell upon them in Jharkhand Basti near Parsudih Gwala Basti on Saturday. They were taken to Sadar Hospital, Khasmahal, where their condition was reportedly out of danger.

Sources said the incident occurred when the three were sitting near a hut. Just then the high tension wire fell down. Laxmi came in direct contact with the wire and was severely burnt. Other victims, Bistu and Patro and an old woman were also burnt when they rushed to help Laxmi, sources said.

Local residents said they had repeatedly demanded installation of wire guards below HT wires but the electricity department officials did not listen to them.
