Thousands turn up at funeral of former minister Banna Gupta’s father

Jamshedpur, April 4: Last rites of Ram Gopal Gupta(80), father of former state minister and MLA of Jamshedpur West Banna Gupta, were performed at Parvati Ghat in Bistupur on Tuesday, April 4 morning. Ram Gopal Gupta passed away on Monday following heart attack.

Late Ram Gopal was cremated at Parvati Ghat where his eldest son Dr. Satish Gupta offered mukhagini.

Earlier, the funeral procession of Ram Gopal Gupta was taken out from his Kadma residence where people from all walks of life including Sunil Bhaskaran, VP (Corporate Services) Tata Steel, Jusco’s Captain Dhananjay Mishra, political leaders from BJP, Congress, JMM, JVM including Rajya Sabha MP and congress leader Dr. Pradip Balmuchu, Yogendra Sahu, Hidayat Khan, Mohan Karmkar, Vijay khan, Rabindra kr. Jha, Dinesh kumar, Binod Singh, Jeetu Patel, Suresh Dhari, Arvind Singh, Shambhu Singh, Vikas Singh, Mulchand Sahu, Debu Chatterjee, Riaz Khan, Laxman Tudu, Purendra Narayan Singh, Surya Rao, Chandrabhan Singh, Rakeshwar Pandey, Manoj Yadav, Usha Yadav, Aparna Guha, Babua Singh, Sanjiv Srivastava, Anand Bihari Dubey, Shailandra Mahato, Dulal Bhuinyan, Babua Singh, Chitranjan Verma, Ashok Choudhary, Pramod Singh and several others.

It may be noted that Ram Gopal Gupta breathed his last at his residence in the presence of family members on Monday. He was taken to Tata Main Hospital where he was pronounced brought dead.

Late Gupta is survived by a joint family including five sons at Kadma. His elder son Dr. Satish Gupta is a doctor in TMH, Guddu Gupta runs a local news channel, Subodh Gupta, Tappu Gupta runs a sweet shop in Kadma while Banna Gupta, the youngest of the lot is a congress leader and former MLA.
