Team India declared champion at 12th South Asia Yoga Cup

Anshu Sarkar receives ‘Yoga Rishi Samman’

Jamshedpur, June 3:  Yoga guru Anshu Sarkar, who has brought about a change in the standard of living of people through yoga, is now making waves in the district, state and country as well as abroad. Anshu was awarded with Yoga Rishi Samman in Nepal capital Kathmandu at 12th South Asia Yoga Cup 2022 for promoting yoga.

He was present at the competition as chief judge. He was awarded trophies and citation by Bal Bahadur KC, State President of Nepal Yoga Council, Indra , President of organising committee and Swami Mahendra Bhatt Rai. Members of Nepal Yoga Council were also present on the occasion.

The event was organized by Yoga Sports Federation of Asia on 30th May, in which about 200 participants from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and India partcipated.

India’s 14-member team was led by Dr. Loknath Nath and Dr. Jeetshankar Nath. The Indian team was declared the winner and the Nepal team was declared the runner-up in the competition.

It is worth mentioning that Anshu has been active in the field of yoga for about 40 years and has received several titles including National Gold, International Silver Medal (Hong Kong), International Judge, Yoga Therapist. He is presently the Senior Vice President of Jharkhand Yogasan and Sports Association (recognized from Government of India).
