Jamshedpur, July 17: Jamshedpur Veterans Sports Club (JVSC) conducted the 1st Veterans Water Polo Tournament for veterans 35 years and above on at JRD Tata Sports Complex, Swimming Pool on Saturday. Tournament was supported by Sports Department of Tata Steel.
This is the new initiative by JVSC Club. This is the 3rd event of the club after Cricket and Badminton in 2016. Forty Eight (48) veterans from Jamshedpur took part in this tournament.
8 teams participated including- JVSC Dabang, JVSC Jaanbaaz, JVSC Hero, JVSC Khadoos, JVSC Bull, JVSC Star, JVSC Fighter and JVSC Chaalbaaz.
Duration of each match was of 20 minutes only. (10 � 2 � 10). In the final match of the tournament JVSC Hero defeated JVSC Fighter by 2 � 1 in penalty shoot. V Raman scored the winning goal.
Referees for the matches were P N Rai, Sunil Tiwari, Ratan and Tapan who officiated all the matches of the tournament. earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Anil Oraon, President, JVSC and Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Administrator (TFA & Sports). Many ex sports person were present on the occasion.
Chief Guest for the event was Om Narayan, Ex MD, Tayo and distributed the prizes.
Avinash Kumar, Hony. Secretary, JVSC conducted the entire tournament with the cooperation of Feroze Khan, V Ramana, P Mohan Rao, R K Mishra, J Behera, Anand Joshi, B Anand Rao, Nixon Kumar and Rabindra Sah.
JVSC will organise Veterans Football on 3, 4, 10 & 11 September 2016 at Tata Tinplate Ground. JVSC Committee members meeting has been called on 24th July 2016 at 5.00 PM at JRD Tata Sports Complex to discuss on the above event.
