Promises better Jamshedpur with advanced facilities

: The top brass of Tata Steel managing director H M Nerurkar and T V Narendran, MD-designate, interacted with the members of the Singhbhum Chambers of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the largest organisation of traders in Kolhan, on Friday evening.

In his address, Nerurkar said that the company was focused on infrastructure development like construction of flyovers, an airport and medical facilities,for which necessary efforts are being made.

Nerurkar said that it was the wish of Ratan Tata, the chairman-emeritus of Tata Sons to see that commercial flights can land at Jamshedpur. A good airport is the need of the hour he noted.

He went on to add that the company plans to construct flyovers to reduce traffic of heavy vehicles which usuallycrisscross the city. He also re-iterated the company’s commitment of providing state-of-the-art heathcare facility by inviting Manipal Hospitals Group in Jamshedpur.

The managing director also stressed on the need of skill development, while he was mentioningabout the ancillary units in Adityapur, the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

Nerurkar stressed on local ancillary industries meeting top-notch benchmarks as well as the company�s vision to retain the city�s intellectual capital with competent cradles in higher education and beefing up healthcare units.

Nerurkar, who will superannuate on October 30 this year, also expressed the need of co-operation with SCCI, the leading trade body of the region.

Speaking on the occasion T V Narendran, MD-designate, who will take over as the new managing director of Tata Steel from November 1 promised to take Jamshedpur to a furtherheightsof development. �Everyone has a responsibility for development of the city.

With the co-operation of everyone we would like to take Jamshedpur to a different level and make it an attractive place,” he said addressing the august gathering. Narendran promised all-round development of city.

Narendran said that �Tata Steel has given a lot to this city in the past 100 years and will continue to do so in future. The city needs quality services we are looking to this direction.

The function was organised by the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with the Seraikela-Kharsawan Chamber of Commerce and Adityapur Small Industries Association ( ASIA). SCCI President, Suresh Sonthalia, welcomed the guestson the occasion.
