Jamshedpur, April 6: In its bid to promote safety, Tata Steel has announced Safety Excellence Reward and Recognition for permanent employees in semi-managerial and non-officers category.
“With the institutionalization and focus on safety culture in the organization, our safety excellence journey has achieved many milestones. One important milestone was to establish the importance of accountability and compliance to safety rules and procedures through the introduction of consequence management. However, it is also important to appreciate outstanding performance in safety to motivate higher levels of safety performance in the organization,” read a circular issued jointly by Sanjiv Paul, VP (Safety, Health and Sustainability) and Atrayee Sanyal, VP (HRM).
Key highlights of the reward are monetary rewards to individual employees contributing towards the continuous improvement in safety and promoting safety culture, 3 tier reward system (AIC level, DIC level and Apex level) and empowerment of AICs and DICs to decide and recognize as per the defined framework and reward.
As per the circular, the reward and recognition will spread over the year acknowledging contribution in various areas. The guidelines would be applicable across all locations with effect from 1st April 2022.
