Jamshedpur, Dec. 8: Tata Steel is committed to ensuring a safe and secure workplace for the employees. Accordingly, it has a robust enterprise risk management strategy and an integrated security systems management being managed by professionals.
A press communiqu� issued by the company on Monday stated that Tata Steel has been getting tremendous cooperation and support from the local police, community and other stakeholders in creation of congenial, safe and secure environment inside the workplace as well as in the area surrounding the works for its employees as well as members of the community. It has been partnering with the Jharkhand Police for a safe and secure city.
As a part of augmented security preparedness plan, a unit of State Industrial Security Force, a specialized Force of the Jharkhand Police raised by the Government of Jharkhand to protect critical industries in the State and trained to deal with terrorism and local as well as organised crimes with all the police powers was inducted in Jamshedpur works. The SISF will provide augmented response capability to Tata Steel in its overall management of security.
At a function organized at the Corporate Centre, Tata Steel on December 7, 2015, the SISF team was inducted by Sunil Bhaskaran, vice-president, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, in the presence of senior officers of SISF and employees of Tata Steel. The trained and armed SISF personnel will provide 24×7 security cover to the plant through patrolling and quick response.
According to Gopal Prasad Choudhary, Chief of Security, Tata Steel, “We are thankful to Jharkhand Government and State Police for accepting our request made last year to provide security coverage by SISF.”
