Jamshedpur, May 10: The kin of late Shambhu Bhagat (50), contract worker who died on duty at Tata Motors Plant I yesterday, will get a compensation of Rs 5 lakh from Wheels India, employer of the deceased. This was announced after a meeting between the kin of the deceased and representatives of Wheels India and Tata Motors held on Monday evening.
The company officials said Bhagat’s kin would also get Rs 8 lakh in insurance and PF settlement. Wheels India has given Rs 25,000 to the next of kin of the deceased for Bhagat’s last rites, sources said.
Bhagat was admitted to Tata Motors Hospital after his condition had deteriorated during work. He died during treatment. His family members had created ruckus in the hospital and accused his employer of not providing appropriate medical assistance to him.
