Jamshedpur: Under its affirmative action policy, Tata Steel supports the needy and deserving students from the SC/ST communities for higher education as well as employability training programmes.

At an interactive programme held today at the Tribal Culture Centre, Sonari, students of nursing training programmes, students pursuing higher education at leading professional institutes, engineering coaching students as well as youth of the All Odisha Ho Students Association were addressed by Mr. T V Narendran, Managing Director, Tata Steel, India & SEA.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Narendran said, It is easy to give financial aid to the needy, but it is difficult to give time and commitment.

We want to make Corporate Social Responsibility the way we work and the way we think and not just restrict it to a department that works for the community.
