Supplementary budget of 1327.38 crore presented during winter session

Rajendra Singh presents budget as JVM MLAs stage dharna

: Jharkhand finance minister Rajendra Prasad Singh today presented a supplementary budget of Rs 1327.38 crore for the financial year 2013-14.

On the inaugural day of the winter session of the Jharkhand Assembly.

Out of the total amount proposed to be spent on the supplementary budget, a major portion will be spent on road construction, secondary education, panchayati raj, national rural engineering project, rural works department and the urban development department.

As per the proposal, the Cabinet has proposed to spend Rs 1003.33 crore for implementing various road construction projects.

For the welfare department projects, Rs 37.53 will be spent on various welfare projects. The Cabinet has proposed to spend Rs 510 crore. It has also proposed Rs 52.28 crore will be spent on secondary education.

While the state finance minister tabled the supplementary budget, the MLAs of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha today sat on dharna in support of various demands put forth by the party and raised slogans on the inaugural day of the winter session.

The leader of the legislative group of JVM Pradip Yadav led the party legislators Arvind Singh, Jaiprakash Bhokta, Misri Soren, Phulchand Mandal, Chandrika Mahatha and Nirbhay Shahi during the agitation.

The placards bore slogans with demands for cancellation of auction of sand ghats, special state status for Jharkhand, solution of problems being faced by MGNREGS workers and parateachers, appointment of candidates who have passed Teachers’ Eligibility Test, grant for all madarasas, draught compensation for farmers, CBI probe into the arresting of party MLA Dhullu Mahato and the assets of BJP spokesperson Amarpreet Singh Kale and many other demands.
