Students scholarship will be increased as per price index: CM


    Ranchi, Nov. 4: Chief Minister Mr. Raghuwar Das on Wednesday said that students’ scholarship will be assessed and increased according to latest price index. He said it in the review meeting of School Education & Literacy Department at Project Building here.

    Laying stress on electricity, developed infrastructure and qualitative desk benches for schools, the CM said that library and practical halls will be in different rooms and skill development education will be fostered in Std. IX & Std. X in 54 schools in the first phase. As per the government measures, every block should have a senior secondary school and there should be a secondary school in every panchayat.

    The blocks where senior secondary schools do not existing will be considered for opening senior secondary school. Altogether 50 such schools will be opened in the first phase in the state and the government will consider the tribal and minority-dominated areas in Santhal Parganas, West Singhbhum, Palamu and Garhwa on a priority basis. The operational expenditure for 89 model schools will be borne by the state government.

    Jharkhand HRD minister Mrs. Neera Yadav that the school premises, including the toilets, need to be cleaned regularly. Chief Secretary Mr. Rajiv Gauba said that the recognized schools are getting grants need to get funds through R.T.G.S., while Principal Secretary to the CM Mr. Sanjay Kumar said that opening a school on GPS map basis will maintain uniformity.

    The Education Department Secretary said that they have begun mapping and are close to completing the projects in 12 districts. The budget of education department was also discussed at the meeting. The CM assured that all needful work will be done for educating the people.
