Jamshedpur: Students from Jamshedpur Cooperative College on Wednesday agitated against the ongoing construction work of the new international campus of XLRI.

The students burnt effigies and gave ultimatum that if the blocked road is not cleared the students will demolish the wall.

Under the banner of Jamshedpur Cooperative College Bachao Sangharsh Samity students alleged that administration is also supporting XLRI management by keeping silent with the B-school authorities closing the thoroughfare by constructing boundary wall.

It may be mentioned that Jamshedpur Cooperative College is situated close to the B school. XLRI was granted 10 acres land by Tata Steel in 2008 for its new campus.

Accordingly, XLRI submitted a letter to the Deputy Commissioner explaining all the facts and the reasons for closing all the outward-facing entrances. Moreover there are roads on either side of the proposed wall leading to the Marine Drive.

In view of the past untoward instances and the likelihood of future unauthorized infiltration, XLRI has also intimated all the concerned district authorities regarding the urgent need for round-the clock campus security.
