String of events marks ‘Earth Day’ at ADLS Sunshine


    Jamshedpur, April 25 : The Eco Club in collaboration with International School Awards Team (British Council) of ADLS Sunshine School celebrated Earth Day on Tuesday, April 25.

    The celebration was a two day affair in which programs like quiz competition, poster competition, English and Hindi essay writing competition were organised on 24th April.

    The program with the theme Mother Earth’ began with the pledge to save the mother earth followed by speech on global warming by Sugashini, a student of class 9. A short informative animated movie was staged for the students which stressed on 3R’s. The Sunshine Choir sung the beautiful song on environment.

    The song was sung in four different languages. Group dance was also performed while Solo act was performed by Soumya of Std 7.

    Several students were awarded in different categories. In English essay writing – Kriti Kumari of class 12 was the winner. In Hindi essay writing -Md. Anas of class 8 bagged the prize. In Quiz competition -Ruby House comprising of Aditya Shah, Yogita and Habiba were declared the winners. In the Drawing competition- Zeenat Fatima of class 7 was first followed by Maninder Kaur of class 7. In the poster making- Ch. Sugashini of class 9 was the winner.

    Later, the Principal, Mrs. Indrani Singh addressed the students and reaffirmed the positive role of the school in making the environment clean. She as an educator motivated each one present there to contribute in his / her own way to make this world a beautiful place.

    The Eco Club moderators Mrs. Prema, Mrs Sadhna and Ms. Durga Prasanna contributed a lot to make this event a success. The program ended with vote of thanks by Aafreen of class 9.
