Manoharpur, Nov 20: A tractor stolen from Bano in Simdega district on November 17 was recovered from Baranga under Manoharpur police station area. Bano police have succeeded in nabbing the thief gang including the buyer of the stolen tractor. Apart from Prashant Rajak, a resident of Baranga village of Manoharpur police station area, who bought a stolen tractor, the police have arrested five youths involved in the theft and sent them to jail.
In a breakthrough, Bano police have recovered the stolen tractor and Rs 15,000 cash of the tractor sold from one of the accused of theft. The accused arrested in the incident of tractor theft include Prashant Rajak, a resident of Baranga of Manoharpur police station area, Subhash Ohdar, Bikram Singh, Bina Singh and Satish Nayak of Kolebira police station area, who carried out the tractor theft incident. All the arrested accused have been sent to jail in judicial custody by the Bano police.
At the same time, the sixth accused in the case, Ravi Nayak, is absconding. The police are conducting raids for his arrest. The thieves involved in the tractor theft incident revealed that they had sold the tractor to Prashant Rajak, a resident of Manoharpur, for one lakh rupees. After which the Bano police, with the help of Manoharpur police, arrested the stolen tractor and Prashant Rajak from Baranga on Friday.
